Kirana's Side Adventure

Kirana was a medicorps worker on Coruscant going about her daily routine aiding the Jedi Healers until a visit one day by Master Veren. He said that a patient named Joh-Kel Styken had been here a few months before, transferred from the battle lines at Cathar and he was looking for information. Kirana had no recollection of this Jedi. With her permission, Veren used a Force technique to sense Kirana’s mind where he said he could see signs of memory suppression imposed by a different Force technique. Using other techniques, he started to undue the damage and she began to remember. She attended the Healers as they worked on Joh-Kel, and within three days of his arrival he was awake. Master Snapit and Tyson spoke with him for awhile and they left the medical ward to go have a discussion in Snapit’s quarters. Tyson had left his hat in the room so Kirana grabbed it and rushed after them to return it to him. She caught up to the group in the grand corridor where suddenly they were all set upon by strange Jedi appearing out of thin air and attacking them. What was even stranger was that none of the other Jedi walking nearby seemed to know a battle was even happening. That’s the last she remembered. Veren takes in all this information and asks Kirana to help him with a search in the Jedi vaults. Her only job is to distract the holocron custodians while he sneaks in, does a search, and wipes evidence of his search. She agrees and they easily pull off their plan. Veren tells Kirana that he uncovered a location in his search where his apprentice, Joh-Kel may have been taken and invites her to accompany him on a mission to get his student that also offers the chance to take down the mysterious Jedi attackers, a group that he calls the Shadow Jedi. She agrees to go along and they leave Coruscant in Master Veren’s transport, bound for Empress Teta. Kirana does not witness Veren’s calls to the other party members.

One night, in the royal palace in her suites, she is attacked by Jedi that appear out of thin air. She defeats them and oversees the security investigation that follows. Later, Master Veren calls her directly and tells her the Jedi at the temple have been lying to her and to him. He’s been looking for Joh-Kel for months now and thinks he has found him. Kaisan's Side Adventure

Kaisan undertook Jedi training while on Corellia from Master Sovliss. By the time his starfighter was built, his Master sent him on a quest to build his lightsaber. Following his Force intuition, Kaisan flew to a remote star system and explored a network of old caves to find his crystal. He assembled his saber in the cockpit of his fighter and then rested. The next day, while preparing to leave the system, he was attacked out of nowhere by two Cloakshape fighters that had not been on sensors and which he had not sensed through the Force. He defeated the fighters, though sustained damage to his ship and set course to return to Corellia for repairs. While conducting repairs, he received a holo-recording from a Jedi Master named Veren. In the recording, Veren asked Kaisan to meet him on Empress Teta. The Jedi Joh-Kel had gone missing again, right from the heart of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, and Veren believed he had a lead. Veren was assembling a team to go after Joh-Kel and he wanted Kaisan along. With more repairs left to finish, Kaisan set course for Empress Teta and a fateful meeting.

Second Intermission

During the last adventure, the Republic and Sith fleets clashed above Cathar for hours until Kaan returned from the surface. At that point, the Sith fleet began a fighting withdrawal. Kaisan raced into the city and procured a starfighter to head up and join the battle. Sesta went along to the city, but joined some fighting on the ground to drive out straggling Sith forces. Tyson, Oon, Aidan, and Kiel remained with Joh-Kel on the planet until the situation stabilized. After the battle, Kaisan took leave to return to Corellia where he commissioned the construction of a custom starfighter. Eventually Joh-Kel was sent to the Temple on Coruscant to be placed into the care of Jedi Healers and Tyson went along. Aidan and Kiel were assigned to new missions. Oon returned to Iridonia to continue relief efforts there and Sesta stayed on Cathar to begin the rebuilding of his home world.

Adventure 29 - The Second Battle of Cathar

Our heroes infiltrate the mountain and find themselves in a familiar cavern, now free of time stop and well lit by Sith floodlamps. In the temple at the heart of cavern, Lord Kaan himself is on hand with the Sith Emperor, Darth Ruin, as well as King Praz Lo-Chang and the Zabrak Senator. The Sith seem about to enact a dark ritual involving hundreds of captured Jedi in stasis tubes, including Kiel Charney. The tribal leaders have been placed in tubes as well, but remain conscious. Jedi Githany is also on hand, but seems to be working with the Sith. As the ritual begins, Oon tries to assassinate the King, but thanks to Kaan’s far seeing and manipulations Ruin steps into the line of fire at exactly the wrong moment and is shot dead by Oon instead. In the short battle that follows, the ritual is disrupted but the party is captured and Kaisan and Aidan are placed into tubes like so many other Jedi. A masked Jedi is wheeled in on some kind of special dais to be the locus of the ritual Kaan still wants to conduct, but now he would be the recipient of its power instead of Ruin. The Jedi, though masked, seems to fit the description of Lord Hoth. Kaan begins the ritual again and unconscious Jedi throughout the room in their tubes are instantly consumed in fires of the Force leaving behind only skeletal remains. The same happens to the corpse of ruin. A buzzing begins in Aidan, Kaisan’s, and Kiel’s ears and they frantically scrabble at the glass of their tubes to break free of a similar fate. Suddenly the unconscious Jedi on the dais rises into the air, glowing brightly and radiating beams of pure Force Light energy. Wherever the rays pass, our heroes bonds fall to the floor and their stasis tubes open; their weapons fly to hand and they are ready to take on the Sith. The glowing Jedi’s mask shatters revealing the scarred face of Joh-Kel Styken before he collapses back to the daid, unconscious. Kaan sneers and waves his hand. The remaining tubes pop open and the skeletal remains step out, lightsabers springing to life in their vile clutches. Ruin’s skeleton rises from the ground at Kaan’s behest as well. The party desperately battles through the horde of skeletons. Meanwhile, Kaan steals what energy he can from the ritual and enacts a final surge of power to send the ritual into a destructive cascade effect before fleeing the temple with Githany and the Iridonian ex-Senator. King Lo-Chang stays to see Oon dead. A dark Jedi, Set Harrth, gathers up Joh-Kel’s insensate form and makes to flee with him as well. Aidan pursues Set while the rest of the party continues the furious melee with the newly undead. In the end, Aidan defeats Set and recovers Joh-Kel, Kaisan downs King Lo-Chang, and the entire party with the help of a strange Force Spirit witnessed by Kaisan, is able to counteract the destructive ritual and rescue the tribal leaders.

Our heroes pursue the fleeing speeder transport, effectively taking down every enemy around and on the transport, essentially at the cost of their own swoop bikes. In a desperate gambit, the Sith transport speeder skips itself along the ground several times to shake our heroes off before they can get inside. The transport speeds off to the mountain as the party starts its long walk back to working speeder bikes.

Adventure 27 - Assignment Cathar

Cathar has been invaded by the Sith. The world has little strategic value and Republic Intelligence reports several high ranking Sith seem to have traveled to the world. Given the history of the classified events around the time stop incidents, the Republic is very alarmed that the Sith are interested in Cathar again. It sends in the party to determine what the Sith may be up to and if any high ranking leaders are on planet, to capture them or take them down. With the leaders distracted, the Republic will also counter attack in an attempt to inflict heavy losses on a large bulk of the Sith fleet, which is in orbit. Their mission laid out, the party sets out and runs the Sith blockade of Cathar, this time shooting down a familiar starfighter that took them down over Iridonia. Once on the ground, they ambush a Sith patrol outside of the capitol city, and using their swoops, make a bee line for the camps of the nomads near the mountains that Oon and Tyson had visited so long ago.
