Our heroes infiltrate the mountain and find themselves in a familiar cavern, now free of time stop and well lit by Sith floodlamps. In the temple at the heart of cavern, Lord Kaan himself is on hand with the Sith Emperor, Darth Ruin, as well as King Praz Lo-Chang and the Zabrak Senator. The Sith seem about to enact a dark ritual involving hundreds of captured Jedi in stasis tubes, including Kiel Charney. The tribal leaders have been placed in tubes as well, but remain conscious. Jedi Githany is also on hand, but seems to be working with the Sith. As the ritual begins, Oon tries to assassinate the King, but thanks to Kaan’s far seeing and manipulations Ruin steps into the line of fire at exactly the wrong moment and is shot dead by Oon instead. In the short battle that follows, the ritual is disrupted but the party is captured and Kaisan and Aidan are placed into tubes like so many other Jedi. A masked Jedi is wheeled in on some kind of special dais to be the locus of the ritual Kaan still wants to conduct, but now he would be the recipient of its power instead of Ruin. The Jedi, though masked, seems to fit the description of Lord Hoth. Kaan begins the ritual again and unconscious Jedi throughout the room in their tubes are instantly consumed in fires of the Force leaving behind only skeletal remains. The same happens to the corpse of ruin. A buzzing begins in Aidan, Kaisan’s, and Kiel’s ears and they frantically scrabble at the glass of their tubes to break free of a similar fate. Suddenly the unconscious Jedi on the dais rises into the air, glowing brightly and radiating beams of pure Force Light energy. Wherever the rays pass, our heroes bonds fall to the floor and their stasis tubes open; their weapons fly to hand and they are ready to take on the Sith. The glowing Jedi’s mask shatters revealing the scarred face of Joh-Kel Styken before he collapses back to the daid, unconscious. Kaan sneers and waves his hand. The remaining tubes pop open and the skeletal remains step out, lightsabers springing to life in their vile clutches. Ruin’s skeleton rises from the ground at Kaan’s behest as well. The party desperately battles through the horde of skeletons. Meanwhile, Kaan steals what energy he can from the ritual and enacts a final surge of power to send the ritual into a destructive cascade effect before fleeing the temple with Githany and the Iridonian ex-Senator. King Lo-Chang stays to see Oon dead. A dark Jedi, Set Harrth, gathers up Joh-Kel’s insensate form and makes to flee with him as well. Aidan pursues Set while the rest of the party continues the furious melee with the newly undead. In the end, Aidan defeats Set and recovers Joh-Kel, Kaisan downs King Lo-Chang, and the entire party with the help of a strange Force Spirit witnessed by Kaisan, is able to counteract the destructive ritual and rescue the tribal leaders.
